Organic Chicken Liver Pâté

Livers are one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can get – if you are looking to boost your immune system, look no further than this Vitamin A & D packed pâté.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil or Butter
  • 400g Bostock Chicken Livers
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Can Coconut Cream Handful fresh Herbs (I use Sage)
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil or 100g Butter
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

EQUIPMENT: Blender or food processor

STEPS:

  1. Roughly chop the onion & throw in the pan with the first measure of coconut oil or butter.
  2. Leave to simmer for a couple of minutes then add the livers and the apple, roughly chopped with the skin on.
  3. Add the Garlic, Coconut cream, Nutmeg and remaining butter or coconut oil and herbs.
  4. Leave to simmer until cooked through.
  5. Add Salt and Pepper to taste.
  6. Whizz it up. Enjoy! – Freezes well too.
